End of Free Major Updates
Major software upgrades will be chargable after October 31, 2016, unless the customer takes out Abraquest Software Assurance which offers a number of benefits along with big savings compared to the cost of buying each upgrad
Over the next few months we will be contacting all our customers to ensure everybody is on the latest version.
After the deadline all major upgrades will be chargable. A major upgrade is an upgrade where the first or second digit of the version number changes, e.g. 2.6.2 to 2.7 or 2.7 to 3.0. A minor upgrade is where the third number changes, e.g. 220.127.116.11 to 18.104.22.168. All minor upgrades will be free for ever because this allows us to give customers important updates. It is unlikely though that old software will be updated, e.g. when 2.7 appears it is very unlikely a 22.214.171.124 will follow 126.96.36.199 if it hasn't by that time. Hopefully this makes sense!
To find out which version of software you are using, run Abraquest and do Help followed by About on the top right of the menu bar.
If you are running software prior to 2.4.0, you can download the Abraquest 30 day trial software and follow the instructions in the Abraquest Upgrade to 2.5x Guide.
If you are running later software, it will keep itself automatically up to date until December 31, 2016, when it will stop unless you are an Abraquest Software Assurance customer.
Please go to Abraquest Software Assurance to find out about what it offers. Customers signing up early can get extra time for free, the earlier you do it the more time is added to Abraquest Software Assurance for you.
