Important New Release: Abraquest Release 2.7.6.0

Abraquest 2.7.6.0 has been released today to resolve the problems with the automatic updater. All customers should upgrade to this release. This post contains details of how to proceed.

Following the blog post about the automatic updater problems last week, we have released a new version of Abraquest that resolves these problems.

As related in that post, security is best done by a third party with thousands of customers so the security routines are fully robust and reliable. We have changed our supplier, which means that when you run this update, Abraquest will say its a 30 day trial and a new licence key will be required. The new licence key will be emailed to existing customers directly after this post is published.

The automatic update part of the system is entirely new and has been created by ourselves, so there is only ourselves to blame if it doesn't work in the future!

To update you should follow these steps:

If Abraquest prompts for an update:

  1. Your existing version of Abraquest is using the old updater. If you can download the update to 2.7.6.0, then you may do so, otherwise please follow the instructions below.

If Abraquest doesn't prompt for an update:

  1. Go to the schools area on the website and download the 30 day trial, or if you prefer click this link: www.abraquest.co.uk/downloads/Abraquest_2760exe.zip.
  2. Download and install this version of Abraquest (if you are a customer that needs IT support to install software on your PC please speak with IT).
  3. When Abraquest prompts with the 30 day trial prompt, enter your licence key which you will receive by email.

Your system should now be working and will contain all the latest updates from the past few weeks.

As always we welcome any comments via the usual methods. Any problems with the install should be addressed to support@abraquest.co.uk or 0800 133 7410 where we will be able to help.
