Abraquest Customers / GDPR

Recently we asked all our customers to confirm if they would like to continue receiving marketing emails.

We also asked all our prospects if we could continue sending similar emails.

The only emails we usually send are from this blog. When we post an email is sent weekly to say that news is available on the site - click here, that kind of thing.

Occasionally we may email customers and prospects about special offers. In either case there is always an unsubscribe link that our system will immediately unsubscribe from future mailings.

GDPR has resulted in our existing prospects having to opt in and new prospects having to register for emails via our website so we have a record for GDPR.

We have also asked existing customers for re-confirmation about marketing emails.

However after much deliberation we have decided we should continue to email all customers a short reminder that there is news on this blog. If this is not required it can always be unsubscribed but customers do need to be kept up to date. We will not send any marketing information to customers who have not requested it, apart from a simple renewal reminder for Abraquest Software Assurance.

The only grey area in my mind is that if we announce a new product on the blog, then this might be classed as a marketing email if its sent to existing customers (it will not be sent to prospects unless they have opted in). If we announce a new feature for Abraquest this should be ok because its free for Abraquest Software Assurance customers in any case. On balance though, its important we keep in contact with our customers and continue to offer top class customer service. If you are a customer and don't want latest news, you can always unsubscribe.

I hope this clarifies our policies re: contacting our customers and prospects. Further information on the GDPR compliance page on our website.

If you have any questions please contact us via one of the usual means.
