Abraquest version 3.0 is finally here!

After months of development, Abraquest version 3 is finally released. Read about new features.

While Abraquest is an established system and suits most of our customers needs, we have taken all of our customer suggestions from the past couple of years, plus some of our own to make the latest Abraquest, Abraquest v3.

There are over 40 changes and enhancements, far too numerous to go into here, below are some of the highlights:

Checklists

Checklists are an optional feature that are aimed at schools who don't have a full time librarian. You can use checklists to remind you to do things (outstanding books list for example), and also show the next person to use Abraquest what has recently been done.

Print your own Labels

Abraquest software assurance customers can print their own labels, on either 21 per sheet, 24 per sheet or 48 per sheet, assuming you have a suitable printer.

Print your own Wall Sheets

Abraquest software assurance customers can print wall sheets and shelf labels, assuming you have a suitable printer, or we can print these for you for a small charge.

Automated Backup now automatically backs up

Abraquest automated backup can be set to automatically backup when Abraquest is exited.

New Abraquest Setup Wizard

The new Abraquest Setup Wizard replaces the old one that was removed a couple of releases ago. This one is different and is designed to take you through may of the Configuration Options. It really is just a set of questions and can be run any number of times.

GDPR Features

It is now possible to remove leavers without affecting any history, but also anonymize (is that a word??? :-)) historical data so that names are removed while keeping the fact that a year 6 female borrowed a certain book for example.

Damages

There are two ways to record damages - when a book is returned, or later, if it is discovered damaged.

Book Query

A new option allows a barcode to be quickly scanned or entered to find out information about a book.

New Fields on Add Books

A number of optional new fields have been added - second subject, illustrator, and Accelerated Reader reference.

Quarantine Features Enhanced

There is now a quarantine report and quarantine is driven properly by a special location. Abraquest will warn you if you try to take a book out of quarantine too early.

Outstanding Books

Outstanding books, as well as the existing report and letters, can now email the lists to teacher.

Issues/Returns Enhancements

 There are a number of minor enhancements to Issues/Returns, also optionally a new tab that allows reservations to be shown at right hand side.

More Information

Not every option is visible, as we don't want you wasting time reading things on screen you never use.

You have to go into Base Data -> Configuration Options to turn many of these options on.

Abraquest v3 is free to all Abraquest Software Assurance customers and will appear as normal as an update message when you run Abraquest.
